Trainings:

At FOA, we provide high-quality training programs designed to strengthen the capacity of farmers, agribusinesses, NGOs, and institutions in sustainable and certified organic agriculture.

Our training programs combine practical field experience, scientific knowledge, and internationally recognized organic standards to enable participants to improve productivity, regenerate soils, conserve biodiversity, and access premium markets for organic products.

All courses are delivered through participatory learning approaches, including interactive workshops, field demonstrations, practical exercises, and group discussions to ensure participants gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

1. Organic Agriculture Basics – MAY, 2026

Duration: (3 days), (Training fee Only:- 150 USD for local participants, 250 USD for international participants)
These courses introduce the principles, practices, and standards required for successful organic farming and certification.

Introduction to Organic Agriculture
Provides an overview of organic farming principles, benefits, and opportunities. Participants learn the differences between conventional and organic farming systems and the importance of sustainable agriculture.

Organic Crop Production
Focuses on key crop production practices under organic systems, including soil fertility management, compost preparation, crop rotation, organic seed selection, and sustainable crop management.

Ecological Pest Management and Medicinal Plant Production
This integrated course equips participants with the skills to manage pests and diseases naturally while leveraging the benefits of medicinal and aromatic plants. Participants will learn ecological pest control strategies, including botanical pesticides, biological control, and integrated pest management, alongside the cultivation, preparation, and use of medicinal plants for natural health solutions and potential herbal product enterprises.

Organic Livestock Management
Covers sustainable livestock production practices including natural feeding systems, animal welfare, disease prevention, and organic manure management.

2. Organic Agriculture and Certification – MAY, 2026

Duration: (2 days), (Training fee Only:- 175 USD for local participants, 275 USD for international participants)

Internal Control Systems (ICS)

Provides guidance on establishing and managing Internal Control Systems for farmer groups seeking group organic certification, including documentation, inspections, and compliance monitoring.

Organic Certification and Standards

Explains certification procedures, inspection requirements, traceability systems, and compliance with international organic standards guided by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements.

3. Sustainable and Climate-Smart Farming Systems – JUNE, 2026

Duration: (3 days), (Training fee Only:- 150 USD for local participants, 250 USD for international participants)

These courses focus on regenerative and environmentally sustainable agricultural practices that improve resilience to climate change.

Regenerative Agriculture

This course equips participants with regenerative farming approaches that restore soil health, enhance biodiversity, and strengthen farm resilience to climate change while maintaining productivity.

Conservation Agriculture

Introduces soil conservation practices that minimize soil disturbance, maintain soil cover, and improve soil fertility while protecting natural resources.

Permaculture Design Course (PDC)

An internationally recognized program that teaches participants how to design sustainable ecosystems for agriculture, housing, and community development using holistic permaculture design principles.

4. Tree-Based Farming and Agroecology – JUNE, 2026

Duration: (5 days), (Training fee Only:- 200 USD for local participants, 300 USD for international participants)

These courses promote tree integration in farming systems to improve biodiversity, soil health, and farm productivity.

Agroforestry

Introduces tree-based farming systems that integrate crops, livestock, and trees to enhance productivity while restoring ecosystems.

Syntropic Agroforestry

Focuses on regenerative agroforestry systems that combine trees, crops, and biodiversity to restore soil fertility through successional planting, biomass generation, and natural ecosystem regeneration.

Orchard and Fruit Tree Management

Provides practical training on orchard establishment, fruit tree pruning, disease management, and quality control for profitable fruit production.

Organic Spice Production

Trains farmers in the production of high-quality organic spices such as cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, turmeric, and ginger in compliance with international organic market standards.

5. Agribusiness and Market Development – JULY, 2026

Duration: (3 days), (Training fee Only:- 175 USD for local participants, 275 USD for international participants)

These courses strengthen farmers’ business skills and improve access to agricultural markets.

Entrepreneurship and Agribusiness Development

Equips participants with knowledge on business planning, financial management, and farm enterprise development to build profitable agribusiness ventures.

Organic Value Chains and Market Access

Focuses on marketing organic products, value chain development, quality assurance, and access to local and international organic markets.

Food Processing and Value Addition

Introduces techniques for transforming raw agricultural products into higher-value processed goods with longer shelf life.

Post-Harvest Handling and Management

Provides practical methods for storage, grading, handling, and quality management to reduce post-harvest losses and improve market value.

6. Environmental Sustainability and Resource Management – JULY, 2026

Duration: (3 days), (Training fee Only:- 200 USD for local participants, 300 USD for international participants)

These courses promote sustainable use of natural resources and environmental conservation.

Master Composter Training of Trainers (ToT)

This specialized course develops community trainers and environmental practitioners who can promote composting and organic waste recycling. Participants learn how to convert organic waste into high-quality compost, establish community composting systems, and train farmers, households, and institutions in sustainable waste management practices.

Sustainable Waste Management and Composting

Teaches how organic waste can be transformed into valuable resources through composting techniques and sustainable waste management technologies that support agriculture and environmental protection.

Circular Economy in Agriculture

Explores circular economy approaches that reduce competition for natural resources by promoting waste-to resource initiatives, sustainable land-use planning, and collaboration between farming and pastoralist communities.

7. Urban and Small-Space Agriculture – AUGUST, 2026

Duration: (2 days), (Training fee Only:- 150 USD for local participants, 200 USD for international participants)

Urban and Backyard Organic Farming

Provides practical solutions for producing food in limited spaces through kitchen gardens, container farming, and integrated backyard production systems.

8. Capacity Building and Professional Development – AUGUST, 2026

Duration: (2 days), (Training fee Only:- 150 USD for local participants, 250 USD for international participants)

Training of Trainers (ToT)

A professional course designed to strengthen facilitation, communication, and training delivery skills for extension officers, trainers, and project facilitators working in agricultural development.
